Psychiatric-Mental Health & Family Nurse Practitioner
Nana Ama Oduro is a dual board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health and Family Nurse Practitioner with advanced training in evidence-based psychiatric care. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Samuel Merritt University and completed her Post-Graduate Certification in Psychiatric-Mental Health at Shenandoah University. Her background includes over a decade of nursing experience, spanning inpatient psychiatry, integrated primary care, and crisis services.
Ms. Oduro specializes in treating a wide range of psychiatric conditions—including depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and substance use disorders—across diverse populations and age groups. With clinical experience in both hospital and outpatient settings, she is committed to providing safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive care that supports each patient’s emotional, behavioral, and psychological wellness.
What You Can Expect From Our First Session
Whether you’re seeking support for the first time or returning to care, our first session is all about building trust. We’ll explore your story, your needs, and your goals so we can create a plan together that feels manageable and meaningful. I believe that healing happens through collaboration, empathy, and truly understanding the person behind the diagnosis.
More About Me
I believe that the most powerful changes begin with the smallest steps. During one of the most difficult times in my life, I learned to focus not on the entire journey, but simply on making it through one day at a time. That mindset, breaking challenges into small, manageable pieces is something I bring to my work with clients every day.
Outside of work, I enjoy cooking and experimenting with cultural recipes (pasta dishes are my favorite!), and I love puzzles and brain games that challenge me to think in new ways.
Languages Spoken
I’m fluent in English, Twi, Ga, and Krobo, and I’m committed to offering care that is not only clinically sound but also culturally sensitive and accessible.
