The basics

What is an ADHD test?

An ADHD test is a structured checklist that asks how often everyday challenges (losing track of details, trouble getting organized, restlessness, putting off demanding tasks) show up in your life. The most common adult version is the ASRS v1.1, developed with the World Health Organization.

It isn't a diagnosis. ADHD looks different in every person, and a checklist can't see your full story. What a screen does well is tell you whether the patterns you've noticed are worth a proper evaluation, and give a clinician a concrete place to start.

What this screening looks at

How clinicians actually use it

A screen is one input. A real ADHD evaluation looks at history, context, and how symptoms affect daily life.

1

A first look, not a verdict

A ADHD screen is a quick way to flag symptoms that are worth a closer conversation. It points toward a discussion, it doesn't end one.

2

Paired with a full evaluation

Clinicians read the score alongside your history, daily functioning, and a structured interview before reaching any diagnosis.

3

A way to track progress

Repeating the same validated measure over weeks shows whether a treatment plan is actually moving the needle.
