About Dr. Elizabeth Onyejekwe
Dr. Onyejekwe is a psychiatric nurse practitioner, healthcare leader, mentor, and mental health advocate with more than 30 years of experience in nursing, psychiatry, and community-based care. Throughout her career, she has witnessed the deep gaps in access, equity, and mental health support for vulnerable individuals and families. Determined to be part of the solution, she advanced her education, became a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, and dedicated her career to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care.
Through years of experience in acute, subacute, and long-term care, and caring for diverse populations, cultures, and communities, Dr. Onyejekwe saw firsthand the need for empowerment through community outreach and education. She also saw the serious consequences that can occur when care is delayed, fragmented, or impersonal. These experiences inspired her to establish Godaelli Psychiatry & Mental Health Center, a practice built on the belief that when people feel heard, seen, and understood, healing begins.
Today, Dr. Onyejekwe leads Godaelli with a mission to provide accessible, integrative, and high-quality mental health care for individuals, families, assisted living communities, group homes, rehabilitation hospitals, and organizations. Under her leadership, Godaelli has grown into a culturally responsive practice with multiple psychiatric providers who bring diverse clinical experience, cultural understanding, and compassionate care to the communities they serve. Services are available in English, Spanish, Igbo, Twi, Ga, and Farsi, reflecting Godaelli’s commitment to meeting people with respect, dignity, and understanding.
Godaelli offers comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, supportive therapy, ADHD and autism testing, GeneSight testing, long-acting injectable treatment, and community mental health education. Dr. Onyejekwe’s work is guided by empathy, faith, and a deep belief in human value: a commitment to seeing, serving, and looking out for others. She believes that every person deserves to be treated with dignity, listened to with care, and supported without judgment.
Beyond clinical care, Dr. Onyejekwe is deeply committed to mentorship, advocacy, and destigmatizing mental health through outreach, education, and collaboration. She mentors psychiatric nurse practitioners, precepts future providers, and partners with community organizations to bring mental health awareness where it is needed most.
Her message is simple:
You matter. Your story matters. Seeking help is not weakness; it is an act of courage, self-awareness, and hope.
