Now accepting new clients
For parents

The school year brings things to the surface.

Grades slipping. Mornings that take an hour. A teenager who used to talk and now does not. We evaluate, explain what we find, and plan treatment together.

What we evaluate and treat

Care for ages 6 to 17, built around your child.

01

ADHD evaluation

A structured assessment for children and teens from age 6, including rating scales completed by you and, with your permission, the teachers who see your child all day. You get findings in writing and a plan you can take to the school.

02

Child & teen psychiatry

Board-certified providers who treat ages 6 to 17 — attention, anxiety, mood, and the sleep problems that ride along with all three. The same clinician follows your child, so you are not re-explaining the history every visit.

03

Teen anxiety & depression

Evaluation first, then a plan that usually pairs medication with supportive therapy in-house rather than sending you to find a therapist on your own.

04

Medication management

Low and slow dosing, reviewed at every visit, with GeneSight pharmacogenomic testing when it would change the choice. Second opinions on an existing prescription are welcome.

How it goes

Evaluate, explain, then plan it together.

You are in the room and in the plan. Nothing about your child's treatment gets decided without you understanding why.

Start with an appointment
  1. 01

    Before the first visit

You request an appointment online or by phone. Our team confirms your insurance and sends intake forms and rating scales so the first visit is spent talking, not filling in paperwork.

  2. 02

    The evaluation

A full psychiatric evaluation with you and your child. We ask about school, sleep, friendships, mood, and family history, and we review anything the school has already sent home.

  3. 03

    The plan

We explain what we found in plain language and agree on a plan together — therapy, medication, or a combination. Follow-up visits keep it under review.

Where we see you

Four Virginia offices, plus video visits.

In-person appointments in Woodbridge, Fredericksburg, and Stafford. Our McLean practice is video only. Video visits are available anywhere in Virginia, which is often easier than pulling a teenager out of school for the afternoon.

Common questions

Before you call

Looking for care for a college-age student instead? For students

We treat children and adolescents from age 6 through 17, and we continue to see patients into young adulthood. College-age students are covered on our students page.

New patient appointments are often available within days rather than months. Call (703) 870-0738 and our team will tell you the next available time before you commit to anything.

No. An evaluation is an evaluation. Some plans are therapy only, some are medication only, and many are both. If medication is recommended we explain why, start low, and review it at every visit.
We accept most major commercial and federal plans. Our team verifies your specific coverage before the first visit so there are no surprises.
We do not prepare 504 or IEP accommodation paperwork. With your written consent we can release your child's evaluation records to you or to the school, and districts run their own eligibility committees to decide what a plan includes.
Supportive therapy is offered in-house alongside medication management, so your child's therapist and prescriber are on the same team and share the same plan.
